These terms are an agreement between you and Geroid McDonnell-Fletcher, trading as MathLab from Flat 2, 73 Lansdowne Place, BN3 1FL, United Kingdom (“MathLab”, “we”, “us”). They govern your use of the MathLab mobile application, alevel.gg and related services. By creating an account or using MathLab, you agree to them.
Who may use MathLab
You must be at least 13 and legally able to agree to these terms. If local law requires parental or guardian consent, you may use MathLab only with that consent. You must provide accurate account information and keep access to your account secure.
The service
MathLab provides educational explanations, questions, answer checking, progress tools and related study features. Features may vary by platform, plan and stage of release. We may improve, replace or discontinue features, but will not remove paid access already owed to you without providing an appropriate remedy required by law.
Educational use
MathLab is a study aid, not an examining body, school or guarantee of a particular grade. Automated marking and educational content may occasionally contain errors. Check important work against your course materials and raise suspected errors with support.
Free access and MathLab Pro
Free users can browse available content and receive a limited allowance for specified interactive features. The current allowance and included features are shown in the app and may change for future use.
MathLab Pro is an auto-renewing subscription. Before purchase, the App Store purchase screen displays the price, billing period, trial or introductory offer if any, and included benefits. Payment is charged to your Apple Account after confirmation. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, subject to Apple’s applicable terms.
You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting the MathLab app or account does not itself cancel an Apple subscription. Restore Purchases is available in the app. Refund requests are handled by Apple subject to its policies and your statutory rights.
Acceptable use
You must not misuse the service, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with its operation, circumvent usage limits, automate high-volume requests, scrape or republish substantial content, reverse engineer protected components except where law permits, introduce malicious code, or use MathLab to infringe another person’s rights.
Our content and intellectual property
MathLab, its design, software, illustrations, original questions, explanations and branding are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your own education while these terms apply. We do not grant a right to commercially reproduce or redistribute the content.
Your information
Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information. You retain rights in information you submit. You allow us to process it as needed to provide, secure and improve the service.
Availability and third-party services
We aim to keep MathLab available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Some functions depend on Apple, Supabase, RevenueCat, Amplitude, Sentry, Meta and other service providers identified in our privacy policy. Their own terms may also apply to their services.
Suspension and ending your account
You may stop using MathLab or delete your account at any time. We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the service or other users, investigate misuse, comply with law, or respond to a serious breach of these terms. Where appropriate, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, MathLab is provided for personal educational use and we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you agreed to these terms, or for business losses arising from consumer use.
Apple terms
Your licence to use the iOS app is also subject to Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement. Apple is not responsible for providing or supporting MathLab. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the terms that apply to the iOS app and may enforce them against you. If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price of the app, if any, to the extent required by its terms and applicable law.
Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms for legal, security or service reasons. If a change materially affects you, we will provide reasonable notice where required.
These terms and any non-contractual disputes are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not deprive you of mandatory protections under the law where you live or any right you may have to bring proceedings in your local courts.
